President's Perspective
We are living in challenging economic times which include both high inflation and reduction in government aid programs which assisted many during the Covid era. St. Vincent de Paul has seen a notable increase in requests for financial and other assistance because of these two factors. We are blessed by the generosity of our Lancaster community to be able to provide that help. Your donations of time and money, your support of the St. Vincent thrift store, as well as your dedication to our neighbors in so many other ministries and projects make life in Lancaster easier and a great place to live.
I recently assisted a young man unload a car full of donated clothing and household items he was giving to the store. He told me that he had received assistance from St. Vincent de Paul a few years earlier when he was in crisis; now that he was in a position to give, he wanted to say thanks by providing his donations so that our good work could continue for others. I was impressed by his gratitude expressed in action, paying forward to others in need. My appreciation extends to all who give and donate to St. Vincent de Paul or other worthy and just causes.
You may never know WHO you are helping, but please know THAT you are helping, and on their behalf we sincerely thank you!
